New Kid on the Blog
Hi and welcome to the new Heritage and CityLife Hotels blog. We’re hoping this new section of the site will provide a platform for us to discuss things such as events taking place at our hotels and around the country, our website, new developments in hotels worldwide, and most importantly for you to tell us what you think.
Plus there’ll probably be the odd anecdote about the guest who was locked out of their room wearing only a bathrobe and fluffy slippers, or the guest who initiated a frantic search in the room they had earlier vacated for their misplaced wedding ring before their spouse discovered the loss, from time to time as well…
Long-time visitors to the website will hopefully have noticed a number of changes to the homepage. A few months ago we decided that as well as wanting to add a couple of new features we also wanted to refresh the look of the page a little. A virtual spring-clean if you will. So out went the large animation and in came a dynamic map of the country to allow clicking directly through to each hotel, a more streamlined reservations booking facility and some news and events teasers.
We’ve got some exciting plans for more developments over the coming months, including a redesigned and extended Last Minute Rates Table, which we’ll tell you about soon.
But we want to know what you think of the changes we’ve made so far; do they make the homepage easier to view? Is it easier to navigate around the site now? What could we add that would make it easier still? We really do want to know, so feel free to add your thoughts using the feedback boxes below.
Until next time thanks for reading and choosing to stay at Heritage and CityLife Hotels.

Hello Piter and thanks for your kind words. We wanted to start this blog as somewhere we could discuss trends and things that are going on both in and around the hotel industry, but as you can see it's evolved into other subjects as well! We'd love to see more comments on our blogs so feel free to tell us what you think! All the best, Michael Hartland
Thanks for your query. There is no direct shuttle from Christchurch Airport to Hanmer Springs, so your best option if you didn't have a private vehicle would be to go by taxi or shuttle back into central Christchurch and then join the Hanmer Connection bus which departs daily from Christchurch at 9.00am, 10.30am and 2.30pm. The journey to Hanmer Springs takes 2 hours. I hope this was helpful and enjoy your stay with us.
Hi Kellie. Yes, the one-bedroom suites in Queenstown do have a bath. Thanks for the query. Michael Hartland
Hi Betsy. The packages are always per room rather than per person, so the rates mentioned will be for the room regardless of how many people are staying (as long as there are sufficient beds to accommodate everyone!). Thanks for your query. Michael Hartland
