Q. What services does the venue fee include?

Q. Is the venue fee cheaper if we don’t book a Saturday night?
A. No, the pricing is the same every night of the week.

Q. Are other events scheduled on the same day?
A. Potentially, but not in the same area.

Q. What is your alcohol policy?
A. The Hotel is fully licensed. We normally do not allow alcohol to be brought into the Hotel.  We are flexible at times, so are happy to discuss.

Q. Are there adequate restroom facilities?
A. Yes, the facilities outside each of our venues.   

Q. Can you accommodate physically challenged guests?
A. Yes, we do have wheelchair access.

Q. Are there any restrictions we need to know about?
A. The Grand Tearoom events must finish at 11.30 pm.

Q. What is your payment and cancellation policy?
A. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to confirm all bookings. Confirmation of the chosen wedding package is required at this time.
In the event of a confirmed booking being cancelled, the Hotel reserves the right to retain all of the non-refundable deposits.
An additional advance payment of $500 is required eight (8) weeks prior to the event. Confirmation of details and prices will be discussed at this time.
100% of all food costs and the specified beverage limit are payable one (1) week (i.e. seven working days) prior to the event.  No food or beverage of any kind will be permitted to be brought into or removed from the Hotel by the client or any of the client’s guests or invitees.

Q. What is the maximum capacity for a wedding reception?
A. 300 banquet plated dinner, 260 buffet dinner.

Q. Can we have our wedding ceremony on site?
A. Yes, there are a number of different options for holding your ceremony on site depending on the number of guests attending.  Please contact our wedding coordinator for further information.

Q.Do you have a dance floor?
A. Included in the wedding packages.

Q. Do you provide a cake table and cake knife?
A. Yes

Q. Do you decorate the venue and tables?
A. Floral Centrepieces are included in most packages, please see package inclusions.  Your wedding coordinator is responsible for placing your favours, placecards and seating plan in the room for you on the day.

Q. Does the venue hire include chair covers?
A. Chair covers are included in the $185* per guest package, but can be hired for an additional cost for other packages.

Q. Can we choose the colour of the tablecloths and napkins?
A. Yes, but if they need to be hired in then an additional cost will apply.  Standard is white cloths and white napkins.

Q. Do you provide wedding planning services?
A. Yes, but only for the venue aspect of the wedding.  We can however make recommendations for you for other aspects of your day.

Q. Do you provide printed menus?
A. Yes we can provide printed menus, but do suggest to most couples to have them printed professionally to fit their theme i.e. placecards and seating plan.

Q. When can my service providers bring the flowers, the wedding cake and decorations?
A. We normally recommend all service providers to arrive on the day.  The time of arrival will differ and will be discussed with the wedding coordinator closer to the time.

Q. Can we have confetti?
A. Yes, but only rose petals, no small confetti.

Q. Are you able to cater for specialised ethnic, vegan or vegetarian menus or different dietary requirement?
A. Yes we can cater for all ethnic or dietary requirements.

Q. Can we choose another menu or make up our own?
A. We are flexible with our menus, these can be discussed and changed. Additional cost may apply to changes.

Q. Can you recommend a cake decorator/photographer?
A. Yes, please contact us for a full list of local suppliers.

Q. What time can we access the venue on the day of the wedding?
A. This will depend on the availability of the room, but we typically aim to allow access from midday on the day of the wedding.

Q. What time can we stay until?
A. Grand Tearoom 11.30 pm on Friday and Saturday, 11.00 pm Sunday to Thursday.

Q. Is there free parking for our wedding party and guests?
A. We do include some parking in our wedding packages, but not all parking is offered free.  Valet car parking for your guests will be $25.00 per car, per day.  The closest car parking building to the Hotel is on the corner of Wyndham and Hobson Streets.  We do recommend your guest parking there.

Q. Children menus
A. Yes, we can supply special children's menus.  Please enquire about these when you book.
Otherwise as per the wedding packages, Children 0-5 years are free of charge.  6 years to 12 years are half price, children 13 years and over are classed as an adult.
