New Appointment - General Manager
Heritage Hotel Management is delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Kluts as the new general manager of Heritage Queenstown.
Kevin has an extensive hotel operations and sales and marketing background, both in New Zealand and North America. He recently returned from Canada where he worked for 20 years. He was most recently the regional operations general manager of Holloway Lodging Canada, overseeing 36 hotels, for two years.
Prior to that he was with Royal Host for eight years in a variety of roles encompassing sales and marketing, plus, hotel operations including a $6.2 million refurbishment of Royal Host’s 267 room Chimo Hotel in Ottawa.
He began his hotel career in New Zealand on a five-year comprehensive internship then went on to become a general manager of three hotels in Te Anau and Christchurch.
He was later the director of international sales for CDL for three years and his last New Zealand role before leaving for Canada was director of sales and marketing at the five-star Carlton Hotel Auckland.
“It’s a great opportunity to be back in New Zealand and work for such a well-respected hotel group. Heritage Queenstown to me is the jewel in the crown. The hotel has strong appeal for both leisure and MICE markets. I am particularly looking forward to applying my international MICE experience to further develop our client base for our award-winning Icon conference venue,” says Kevin Kluts.
Kevin is a member of the Canadian Society of Association Executives and served on its advisory board in Toronto. He was also a board member of the New Zealand Hotel Association for the Christchurch region and treasurer/board member of the Fiordland Tourism Association.
