Heritage Christchurch Nominated In World Luxury Hotel Awards 2017

Heritage Christchurch has been announced in the prestigious international World Luxury Hotel Awards 2017.

The hotel was the 2016 winner of the best luxury historical hotel for the Australasia and Oceania regions in these prestigious awards, and is in contention again for 2017.

“We are thrilled to be short-listed for the second time in a row. These awards are often likened to the Oscars for luxury properties world-wide. Guests and city visitors alike have a strong attachment to our very special historic building,” says Astrid Hay resident manager of Heritage Christchurch.

Set in the 104-year-old Old Government Building (OGB) on Christchurch’s Cathedral Square, Heritage Christchurch is a refined choice for leisure guests and business travellers.

Heritage Christchurch’s building was designed by renowned architect Joseph Clarkson Maddison in an Italian Renaissance Palazzo style and is considered of ‘monumental’ importance to the city by architecture experts.

The Heritage Christchurch’s Old Government Building (OGB) has been recognised in the bi-annual Canterbury Heritage Awards in 2010, 2012 and 2014. The hotel was the subject of a highly commended award for sustained public relations in the PRINZ awards 2016.
