Hanmer Springs New Conference Sales Manager
22 Jan 2015
Heritage Hanmer Springs is pleased to announce Emma Dawson has been promoted to the role of conference and sales manager at Heritage Hanmer Springs.
Emma has been working at the hotel since September 2013 as conference coordinator and has secured and managed many conferences for the hotel during this time.
“Emma has demonstrated great drive and passion for the conference market and we have seen a real boost of business in the last few months, so we wanted to recognise her ability with the promotion,” says Duncan Mackenzie, general manager Heritage Hanmer Springs. “We have a very strong team here now ready to meet the demands of 2015 which promises some very strong business, both from conferences, special events and weddings.”
“I am thrilled to take on the new role. Working in such a unique place as Hanmer Springs and for such an iconic property is fantastic. The region has such a lot to offer and the hotel so special, it’s a winning combination for conferences,” says Emma.
Emma’s appointment follows the recent appointment of the new Heritage Hanmer Springs executive chef, Mirek Karpowicz, who has been making an impact with his classical European style cuisine utilising local ingredients and wines.
Heritage Hanmer Springs set in an historic 1930s lodge specialises in conferences, weddings and banquets for up to 150 people and accommodation ranging from hotel rooms, to garden rooms and three bedroom self-contained villas.
On site is a swimming pool, tennis and petanque courts and a wedding pergola. The hotel’s historic ballroom opens on to sun drenched terraces in summertime and has a welcoming open fire in winter.
Just 90 minutes-drive from Christchurch’s international airport, Heritage Hanmer Springs is a perfect venue for a conference or event. The region has an array of recreational and gourmet opportunities from artisan foods, fine dining, boutique shopping, award winning wineries, thermal baths and spa indulgences.
The region is also host to a number of outdoor operators offering team building, jet boating, golf, horse and mountain bike riding in the stunning surrounding forest.
