Dean Robinson has been appointed to the role of executive chef at Heritage Hanmer Springs.

The New Zealand born chef trained in the SPHC hotel group in the South Island before moving to Auckland. After three years as head chef at Non Solo Pizza in Parnell he moved to Chile to take part in the opening of the Akarana Restaurant in Santiago where he was based for three years.

Whilst in the role he was chosen to cook for many embassy events and his cuisine was enjoyed by more than one New Zealand prime minister whilst in the country.

Most recently he has held the executive chef role at Peppers Bluewater Resort and joins the Heritage Hanmer Springs from Braided Rivers Restaurant and Bar.

Dean hopes his South American experience will add some spice to the Heritage Hanmer Springs menus, as will his history with VIP banquets, weddings and events.

“It’s great to be working in such a special part of the South Island. The local ingredients and wines are some of the best in the country and Heritage Hanmer Springs is a unique hotel and venue. I am looking forward to bringing together my local and international experience to create some great cuisine here,’ says Dean.
